July 27, 2011Intellicom employees contribute to Joplin relief fund Intellicom announced today that they and their employees have committed to donate over $1000 for relief in tornado stricken Joplin, Missouri. Intellicom employees donated $595 to the cause and the company matched dollar-for-dollar for a grand total of $1,190. With the school year just a few weeks away, Intellicom has decided to make the donation to Joplin Schools Tornado Relief Fund. The Joplin Schools Tornado Relief Fund will be used to remove the obstacles that stand in the way of teachers being able to teach and children being able to learn by providing them the basic educational materials and support they need. This could include, but not be limited to, things such as food, clothing, shelter, after school care, school supplies, classroom materials and student transportation to and from school related events. What is very neat about this particular donation is that the idea was 100% employee driven. According to VP of Operations, Bryan Kuntz, the employees came to him with the cause and wanted to reach out and help. Above and beyond the monetary donation, a number of Intellicom employees are planning a trip to Joplin to donate their time and manpower to relief efforts as well. Below is a photo of the employees who donated.
